Meredith is a marketing writer with a knack for turning complex ideas into accessible content. Her background includes marketing communication roles with National Instruments, Digital Motorworks, and several small technology start-ups in Austin. She was the managing editor of National Instruments’ award-winning customer publication, Instrumentation Newsletter. She also developed course materials and helped train the company’s product marketing engineers to write effective technical marketing content. In previous positions, Meredith was responsible for all aspects of marketing collateral development, including content strategy, writing, editing, art direction, and scheduling.
Meredith now works as a freelance writer and editor for companies in the high tech, finance, and health/wellness industries. She specializes in helping companies tell their stories in clear, compelling language. Sometimes that means making complex technical or financial concepts understandable through white papers, case studies, web copy, and other marketing collateral. Other times it means helping business leaders share their vision through blogs that reflect their personal voice and brand. Meredith’s clients appreciate her ability to grasp concepts quickly, write for different audiences and media, and work efficiently with cross-functional teams.
Meredith lives with her family in Kansas City. She is active in the local running community, both as a publicity volunteer for KC Express, a women’s running and walking club, and as an avid (albeit slow) distance runner. She is also passionate about education and enjoys volunteering as a tutor at her kids’ school. Meredith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. Olaf College, where she graduated summa cum laude, and a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin.
