Senior Brand Strategist
TREW is looking for a Brand Strategist who can help technical companies tell a clearer story, stand apart from competitors, and build credibility in their markets.
The ideal candidate has experience working with engineering, manufacturing, industrial, automation, technology, or other technical B2B organizations and understands the unique challenges of marketing complex products and services to technical buyers.
This role combines brand positioning, messaging, PR, and thought leadership. One day you might be leading a discovery workshop with a client leadership team. The next, you're helping shape a company's messaging, identifying a story worth pitching to industry media, or developing a thought leadership platform for an executive team.
Our clients solve complex engineering and technical challenges. Your job is to uncover what makes them different and turn that into messaging and market visibility that supports growth.
You'll work closely with clients, account teams, writers, designers, and subject matter experts to develop strategies that strengthen brands, support sales efforts, and position companies as leaders in their industries.
While this is primarily a strategy role, the Brand Strategist may also manage a small number of client accounts and serve as the senior strategic advisor for those relationships. This includes providing ongoing strategic guidance, helping clients navigate marketing decisions, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring programs remain aligned with business objectives.
Core Responsibilities
Brand Positioning & Messaging
- Lead brand discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews
- Conduct market, customer, and competitive research
- Develop positioning platforms, messaging frameworks, and value propositions
- Help clients articulate what makes them different and why it matters
- Translate complex technical products, services, and expertise into clear, compelling messaging
- Create brand narratives that support business goals and growth strategies
- Support website strategy, campaign development, content planning, and sales enablement through strong messaging foundations
PR & Thought Leadership
- Develop strategic PR and thought leadership recommendations that build visibility, credibility, and authority
- Identify opportunities for media coverage, podcasts, speaking engagements, industry awards, and contributed content
- Help clients uncover stories, customer successes, innovations, and market insights worth sharing
- Support development of speaking abstracts, award submissions, bylined articles, executive content, and media pitches
- Create thought leadership platforms and messaging themes for executives and subject matter experts
- Collaborate with content and account teams to amplify thought leadership across channels
- Stay informed on industry trends, buyer behavior, AI, and emerging topics impacting technical markets
Strategic Consulting & Client Leadership
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and planning meetings with client stakeholders
- Contribute to marketing planning, brand strategy, product launch, and website strategy engagements
- Present recommendations with confidence and clarity
- Build trusted relationships with client teams and executive leaders
- Connect brand strategy, messaging, PR, and thought leadership efforts back to business goals
- Serve as the strategic lead on assigned client engagements
- Manage a small portfolio of client accounts, providing ongoing strategic guidance, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring work aligns with client objectives
- Collaborate with account directors and specialists to keep projects moving forward and clients informed
- Help identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional strategic services when appropriate
The Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years of experience in brand strategy, communications, public relations, content strategy, or B2B marketing
- Experience leading positioning, messaging, and brand strategy initiatives
- Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, industrial automation, software, cybersecurity, semiconductor, technical services, or other technical B2B organizations strongly preferred
- Strong interviewing, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Excellent writer with the ability to simplify complex technical topics
- Experience supporting executive thought leadership, PR, media relations, or visibility programs
- Ability to lead strategic conversations with executive stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $100,000-120,000 annually
